The Importance of Leads in Network Marketing
Let’s start with a reality check: The bottom line is that network marketing is a
numbers game. If you are going to win at network marketing, you have to
constantly set goals to grow your network. But as a network marketer, you have
experienced that most of those you attempt to recruit won’t buy into your
program; and most of those who do will not be successful. This means that you
have to constantly locate many people, present your opportunity, and if they
accept, then train those who join you to succeed.
The best way to get started is to literally write 100 names down. These will be
your first 100 attempts to gain membership into your opportunity. Now, you can
find these names from a number of different sources: if you want, you could
write down names of friends and family members; you could use names of people
you talk to on a regular basis; or you could buy leads from a company and
specify or target certain characteristics that you want.
Whatever you do, start by writing down 100 names. Though it may seem like it is
unimportant, you have to set benchmarks in order to ensure that you keep a high
standard for your level of growth; otherwise, it may seem that you are working
hard, but in reality, you are doing markedly less than is possible.
As I mentioned, there are a number of different places you can find these names;
and there are also many kinds of leads you can purchase. For instance, if you
buy them from a lead-generation company, you can differentiate between leads you
can contact over the phone and leads you can contact through email or mail.
Depending on what your opportunity happens to be, these differences could be
quite significant.
So start by writing down 100 names. I don’t know of a better way to do this but
if you do, by all means go for it! But what is more important is that you
actually get 100 names down on a piece of paper.
Network marketing can be very lucrative but it takes patience, persistence and a
product that appeals to the masses. One such product is that of travel. Rachel
Langford of
www.tlc-travels.com offers a great program that allows you to be a part of the
largest industry in the world and travel for pennies on the dollar. Network
marketing is a legitimate business but it is not a get rich quick scheme. To be
successful, you have to be committed to your own success.
